DAY 5 || November Blogchallenge

 Okay here we go!

1. I absolutely disgust Pink Glacé cakes (Dutch roze koeken) because they make me nauseous.
2. I can solve a 3x3 rubiks cube in 3 minutes.
3. And a 4x4 in 10 minutes #proud
4. I'm lactose-intolerant and the hardest part of that is not being able to eat Ben and Jerry's without getting immense stomach pain.
5. I love to listen to and play Mozart. Especially KV545.
6. I'm afraid of thunder, dentists and spiders

7. I play both piano, violin and a bit of ukulele for fun.
8. I work best at night because the whole house is silent then.
9. I speak 4 languages fluently, and another 4 languages I understand passively. I simply love languages and learning new words.
10. I love using old-fashioned 'nostalgic' words in both Dutch and English. But Dutch is the funniest.
11. I've been diagnosed with a burn-out when I was 19. And still recovering.
12.  I get nervous of slow people walking or cycling in front of me.
13. My favourite pianist ever is Olafur Arnalds. Because his music is magical. <3 Listen for yourself here:

14. I have a strange fascination for planes and everything to do with aviation & I accidentally fell off my bike once when I was staring at a plane in the sky.
15. I love Zumba and hope to one day get my instructor-certificate if I ever get the courage to do so.
16. I've always been a huge fan of cupcakes because they look so cute and adorable but because I always sucked at baking them, I gave up that hobby. :)
17. I'm a fan of the band Within Temptation for more than 10 years now.
18. During my exchange year in Norway in 2011 I had the great idea to paint my hair brown. Rebellious and unexperienced as I was, I bought brown hairpaint which turned out to be Auburn - a more reddish-brown colour, and PERMANENT. (see my header image) Many attempts have been made to wash the colour out of my hair again, which left me with severely destroyed hair and an unhappy hairdresser. So lovelies: If you ever get the great idea to paint your hair for the first time ever: Look for non-permanent paint. Or go to a hairdresser. :)
(I did like it at that moment and it was a very nice colour. I've painted my hair brown a few times after this as well, but used non-permanent paint for that.)

19. I adore pandabears and get totally hyper when I see panda-items at Primark.
20. I'm a Potterhead and love literally everything about Harry Potter. And I'm in Ravenclaw btw :)

Hope you enjoyed reading these random facts about me!
Which one did you like the best?

  3. So lovely to get to know you better, Ilse :)
You are such an amazing person!
First off, rubik's cube - you go, girl! Something you defo should be proud of! Plus, piano... I love piano music and wish I could learn when I was little. It's funny, I also speak 4 languages fluently and understand 4 other ones :) My hubby has the same thing about the planes as you do. He would point to Every.Single.Plane + having a window seat makes his day cos he can look out all the time lol.
I also love working at night :)
Hope that diagnosis doesn't stick with you for long, hon.
    Hugs!!

  4. I can't believe you can speak so many languages - you must have natural skill at picking them up! And hard work of course :) I'd love to hear more about how you learnt them and how much you find yourself using all four! xxx

    1. Thank you!! English is obligatory at primary school in the Netherlands, and Norwegian I learned from living in Norway. Danish I studied at uni for a year, and I have some Danish friends that I talk Danish with. I did French, German and Spanish at both secondary and uni, but forgot most of it, unfortunately. For the rest, I understand a bit of Swedish which is very cool! :)
