DAY 26 || November Blogchallenge

Dear Stranger from the future,

I write to you from the past. If you read this, I'm long dead. God knows where and how I died, but to you that is of no importance I guess.
I want to share some things with you, from the Earth as I know it. I am just an ordinary girl among 7 billion of other people on this planet. I'm curious if this population is still the same when you read this. Has it grown, or maybe decreased?

I live in Norway, Scandinavia. Maybe it is still on the map you use.
The world as I know it is torn apart by wars and constant fear of terrorism. I hope it will be better in your world but I highly doubt it.

I was alive during the Islamic extremists' war against the West. I was alive when the iPhone was invented, and we all switched from old Nokias to brand new high-tech smartphones. Alive when flight MH370 went missing. Has it already been found when you read this? I was also alive when flight MH17 was shot out of the sky by Russian separatists Alive when the first experiments on Mars- and Mars travel- commenced. Space travel must have become more common in your world. I wonder how the Mars travels are going in the future.

I live in a world where people are rather individualistic than sociable. Where everyone grabs their phones when they are gathered. Where everyone is connected through social media and apps like Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp and Snapchat. A small world.

In books such as Divergent and the Maze runner, I read about a dystopian world. A world after the apocalypse. People were controlled by what was left of a government, that exposed them to genetical experiments. As I write this, I am in a society of freedom, but I somehow imagine you living in such a distorted world as described above.

I hope you're safe, my friend. That you may live in a peaceful and free world. Free from war and constant fear. A utopia rather than a dystopia.

Sincerely yours,
